A scripture ...

Psalm 18:

"But me He caught - reached all the way from sky to sea; He pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down but GOD stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide open field; I stood there saved - surprised to be loved!"

Today ... I still feel a bit choked by the void. I know I'm in the wilderness, but I'm seeking Him. I'm reading His word every day, and every day He shows me something new that I've never seen in all the old stories. I know that I've never tried this before, this obedience thing. Every other time I've run out of the wilderness on my own. So I'm going to hang here and wait for Him to lead me out this time.

  1. Ps 17:5-9
    5 My steps have held to your paths;
    my feet have not slipped. *****(obedience)

    6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me;
    give ear to me and hear my prayer.
    7 Show the wonder of your great love,
    you who save by your right hand
    those who take refuge in you from their foes. (my thoughts)

    8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;
    hide me in the shadow of your wings ***********************************

    9 from the wicked who assail me,
    from my mortal enemies who surround me.
    NIV

    Even though I first attached to this scripture in defense and justice seeking....I soon learned that most of the time I am the one who HE protects me from. Hold captive every thought.....and rest under HIS wings!!!! Learned and still having to choose to love!

  2. thank you so much for sharing that ...i remember having that same attitude about the OTHERS ... i read a story on another blog recently about a man who had been saved, and someone had asked him to tell the story and he replied that God had pursued him relentlessly. and the other person asked what he had done, and he said that he had run as hard & fast as he could in the opposite direction! i read somewhere, i think it might have been Buechner, but he described Him as the Hound of Heaven!
